"Amica mia, mia moglie!. La morte, che ha suck'd il miele del tuo respiro. Ha avuto alcun potere ancora sulla tua bellezza"
*English Translation - O my love, my wife! Death, that hath suck'd the honey of thy breath Hath had no power yet upon thy beauty*
Edward's fingers delicately traced the engraved words of the crisp faded pages of his original edition of Romeo and Juliet, a copy that he had acquired many years ago from Carlisle. This had been one of his favorite Shakespearean plays, one that he found peace and comfort in.
"Queste gioie violente hanno fini violente. E muoiono nel loro Triump, come il fuoco e la polvere. Che, come si baciano, consumano"
*English Translation - These violent delights have violent ends
And in their triump die, like fire and powder. Which, as they kiss, consume*
Edward sat on the edge of his bed that was in the Cullen home. His remained as it always had been, not a book had been removed fro his large shelves, the bed looked like it hadn't been slept in. The ever-lasting scent from Bella still lingered on the pillow and the sheets.
With the book still within his grasp, his eyes wandering the once occupied room that was once his and Bella's. The cottage that he could call home with his beloved wife and daughter Renesmee (Nessa)
He could hear the laughter that had been on short supply since Alice had departed from us along with our brother Jasper. The atmosphere had been filled with a constant eerie silence, a silence that he was not used to.
"Again momma" a shriek of laughter brought him out from his train of thought as Renesmee screamed with joyous laughter as he heard the patter of foot steps skip along the tiled floor of the main lounge.
Even with all of this agonizing waiting, she could still bring a smile to his face, and banish all of his inner thoughts of the worst outcome. He had faith in Alice and believed that everything would turn out the way it should. He would protect his family with his life, Bella and Renesmee.
"più della mia stessa vita ---- More than my own life"
"Edward? Edward?" the voice of his beloved wife Bella was calling for him, bringing an infectious smile to his stone face. Reading one last passage from the book before he closed it shut and placed it on to the crisp blue ocean sheets. He stood up and made his way towards the family he never thought he would have. The family he would die to protect for eternity.
Descending the large stairwell as he proceeded into the lounge to find Nessie sat beside Bella, they heads lifting to spot Edward as he entered the room.
"Daddy!"
Renesmee laughed as she ran from Bella's side to jump into his arms as he picked her up and held her close to his chest. Letting his forehead rest against her's,
"Una rarità per trovare ciò che si credeva non si poteva avere"
*English Translation - Such a rarity to find what you believed you could not have*
"What did you say daddy? she giggled.
"I will tell you some day sweetheart" he kissed her cheek as she rested her head onto his shoulder as she began to show him what she had done today and to tell him everything would be alright. They would be safe. Forever.
