The last week or so had been nothing but friends from around the world showing up to see something, never given more information than that it was of dire importance they came to the Cullen's home and listened to Edward and Bella as they explained about their situation. Bella was mentally drained, as was Edward. So far many of their friends had vowed to stand witness and possibly fight if needed. Renesmee was showing her gift to anyone who would allow it. Showing just how special she was to each new guest that would arrive. All of them taken aback by how astounding she was, they'd never seen a creature such as she. Jacob wasn't liking all the new vampire arrivals but said nothing because it was all for Renesmee's well being.
After Eleazar revealed her gift, a shield, Bella had spend days training in fighting skills and in how to project her shield to others. Kate shocked Edward over and over until finally she almost had him fully covered. "No, absolutely not!" Bella said after Kate suggested putting Renesmee in harms way in order for her to test her limits. Without thinking she covered them both with her shield and everyone smiled. She didn't like the fact that it had taken her daughter to open the floodgates of how to control her gift, but Edward was proud.
Each day Renesmee grew more and more, in front of their companies own eyes. Tanya and Kate loved talking to Renesmee, they found her intriguing. Bella nodded as Edward told her to get ready for the Amazonian coven who'd just arrived. Between showing Renesmee to all their friends, and training Bella felt as if she could sleep for a hundred years, who knew vampires got tired.
As the family talked to the vampires in the room, she researched J. Jenks on the lap top. Nothing for J. Jenks only Jason Jenks. The address was unavailable but the number was listed. She wrote it down and deleted the history.
Bella called Charlie and decided on a way to get her detective work done while staying under the radar. "Hey dad, I know its been over a week since you seen Renesmee, but we have need-to-know company over and I think it be best if maybe I just brought her there for a visit." He sighed at the need to know and agreed, this morning would work for him. "Jacob coming too?" He asked. "Probably." She responded. Charlie wouldn't understand what imprinting was, but he did seem to notice a connection between the two.
The trip was more than just a way to protect her father against 27 oddly matched vampires. On the way to Charlie's home she and Jacob exchanged an interesting almost silent conversation. The fact that they both thought the Romanians were creepy, made her smile. After some of their gruesome comments about eye gouging, she'd kept Renesmee away from them. As she tried to walk in the rain at a normal human pace, Jacob knocking on the door as they waited. Charlie's expression when he saw Renesmee again made Bella smile.
"Actually I've got a few errands to run." She said after he asked if she was coming in. "oh, behind on Christmas shopping eh?" He said playfully. Now she knew what she was smelling, Charlie must have put up decorations. "Yes, Yes I do...exactly. Christmas Shopping." She said in an almost non believable way. "I'll see you later dad, have fun!"
Jacob and Renesmee stayed behind at Charlie's while she headed in the Volvo to Seattle. She thought her "after" car was nice, but it was so conspicuous. And attention bringing. Deciding on something more, under the radar was better for the errands she intended to complete.
