Sitting in my bedroom, Sam and Emily kept racing through my mind.I became enraged. I couldn't stand the pain any longer.I had to find out what was going on. I stormed out of my bedroom making my way to the front door grabbing everything I could grasp with hand in sight, slinging it all to the walls and floors. I had to confront Sam and I knew exactly where he would be at. That night, the Reservation was having the annual party for the elders to celebrate our Quileute ancestors. I knew Sam and his 'boys' would be there. After arriving at the reservation, I seen everyone gathered around the fire talking about our Quileute heritage and how it began. I didn't want to say anything in front of the elders so I went and sat down to listen to the stories they were telling while keeping my eyes on Sam.
Sam watched as Leah arrived at the bonfire. His arm around Emily as he took in her pained face. He hated to see her so hurt, and still couldn't explain why...why he'd left her like he did. She was not pack and unless she miraculously turned...it would never be. He gave a small smile her way and when it wasn't returned he looked down. Throughout the stories of the elders, Billy was subtle in ways of not letting on that they were indeed truth, she stared daggers into him. He could also sense something different about her. Something...no it couldn't be...she couldn't....well was it possible? His brows furrowed as he sat in thought.

I sat there watching Sam and Emily giggling and poking one another as if they were children. "That could have been me with Sam," I thought. I stared at him with outrage. I was so hurt, so angry, so ... I couldn't sit there and watch them any longer. I got up and stormed off around the bonfire hoping no one saw me leave. I needed to be alone.
His head turned in her direction as he whispered in Emily's ear that he needed to go talk to Leah. She understood and insisted he do so. He quietly left the fireside and followed her into the woods. Once they were out of earshot he called out. "Leah...wait...please!" He extended a hand to her to get her to stop, "We need to talk...you have to understand..."

I heard Sam call out to me and felt him grab my hand, I quickly jerked my hand away to face him. "You're right I don't understand, Sam. How could you leave me and go to my cousin after we had been together so long?" I thought to myself, how could she go to the one I have loved for so long? Still furious, I knew this conversation wouldn't end up well. I told Sam, "Go back to the bonfire, the elders, -dropping my head- Emily!" I couldn't deal with this right now. I have became so overwhelmed with anger I was getting sick to my stomach.
There was a look in her eye, he knew that look. He hadn't been warned that it was a possibility. With all the bloodsuckers in the area, of coarse why didn't he realize the pack would grow. But could a woman....could it happen. He tilted his head as if to examine her. Little signs...her eyes...her body seemed to tremble when she spoke. "Leah...do you....feel okay?" He didn't want to reveal anything that he would regret, so decided to take it slow. He hated ignoring her question, but he knew saying the only thing he could say--'I can't tell you' would just end badly. He took a few steps closer to her.

Bending over in pain grasping at my stomach, Sam came closer. I threw my hand up to stop him from coming any further. " I am tired of all this pain, Sam. Leave now!" -looking up to him with tears of physical pain swelling up in my eyes- "Please, Sam...please go! I can't do this anymore." I turned around walking slowly, deeper into the woods while still gripping onto my stomach, shaking and feeling weaker as I carried on.
He groaned and was getting frustrated without her knowing that it was all out of his hands, he could not help it...he considered just telling her. He watched her walk away from him holding her stomach. This wasn't good...she was...it was....happening to Leah. "Leah, wait...Let me help you!" He called out as he followed her deeper into the woods.

"No, Sam! You have already done enough damage to me. I'll be fine." Knowing in my gut something was terribly wrong with me. I didn't want him to see that I was breaking down. The pain was becoming unbearable. It took every inch of my being to put one foot out in front of the other. It began to get darker but it was already dark out. I could feel myself fading away and before I knew it I went down on the ground.
Sam reached out to catch her before she fell, dropping to his knees as he cradled her head. "Leah....Leah are you okay? Talk to me.." She looked weak and he didn't know if it was the change or if it were something totally different. Her skin felt so hot, sweaty and she convulsed sporadically. "Leah...."

I couldn't open my eyes. I lifted my head, still weak somehow knew Sam was holding my head. My body was shaking, sweating, hot to the touch. I could hear everything around me, louder and clearer than I had ever heard before and I could smell the most pungent smells. I still knew Sam was with me. I murmured asking, "What is happening to me, Sam?" By this time my bones were aching terribly. I didn't realize that while having the convulsion's that each bone in my body had broken and was reshaping inside. I could feel my skin being stretched and pulled from every which way. Still while in agony, I felt safe with Sam holding me. The pain felt like it had went on for hours, but only minutes past. All of a sudden my body leaped out of Sam's arms and onto the ground landing on my feet. Looking down I realized they weren't feet, but I had landed on four paws.
Once she began to tremble more violently he knew, this was it. Leah was changing and he didn't know exactly how to take that. Sam watched as she leapt up and landed on four paws. He could see her confusion and anger as she growled. The only way to talk to her was if he too were a wolf. He stood and shifted as he used mental link to communicate.
~ML~ Leah, I know it's a lot to take in. I didn't know you'd be changed. I didn't know it possible. The legends are true Leah, this is our purpose.
He waited for her to take in it and he'd help her through it all.

I was confused, growling at Sam. I didn't know what had just happened. All of a sudden Sam leaped off the ground and changed into a beautiful black wolf. He was black as night shining with the refection from the moon. I was still confused taking each step pacing carefully around Sam while staring into his eyes. I heard his voice echoing in my head but not taking in what he was saying. "Is this a dream?", I thought to myself.
~ML~ No Leah, no dream. It's all real. I couldn't tell you before because....because it's secret and no one could know the truth. I've wished all along I could tell you. When...Emily and I met, I imprinted on her. It's not anything I could have helped, or changed. You have to know that Leah.
He watched as she seemed to take it all in, waiting for questions she was sure to have. Leah was now part of the pack and things quickly seemed to change...he just wasn't sure if it were for the good.

-Listening to Sam as he echoed through my head- I replied in mind link to him, "Secret? Secret of becoming this?" I was still confused and had many more questions for him to answer. "What is imprinting? If I were to become this, why didn't you imprint on me? I love you, Sam! Always have and always will." I didn't know what imprinting was but I knew if it had to do with the way he is with Emily, I wanted to imprint too, but with him. I began asking more questions. "Who else is what I have become? Is Emily one too? Jake, Paul, Seth...any of the guys?," as I was still pacing around Sam waiting for the answers.
