-I grinned over at Jazz, lifting my head from the bloody carcass of the shaggy Highland cattle that populated this area. His own wiry body was splayed across his own kill, his golden eyes bright and pulsing as the threw his head back, lips smeared in ruby droplets. Meeting my gaze, he smiled, licked his mouth clean and rose up, his vampire speed rushing him to my side in less than a second. Helping me up, he bent low and kissed me passionately, sucking the blood on my own lips into his mouth, a low growl rumbling deep in his chest. One hunger satisfied, we sped home through the dense woodsy area surrounding Greshnorish house and indulged in whetting our endless appetite for one another….
Hours later, I rolled over and propped my head up on his chest, hands slowly stroking his sides, loving the slow shudder that raced through him at my touch. It never grew old or ordinary or average. Everytime with Jazz was like the first time, every kiss was new and brought a rush of aching desire to root in my belly and lower. If ever a man had been made for me, just me, it was Jasper Whitlock. He was the counterpoint to my very self and I knew that whatever I was…..was because of him. His love anchored me, calmed the storm of insanity that had once been my foundation. Leaning up, I kissed him again, murmuring “I love you”. He gave that lazy, roguish smile, fingers dancing up my spine, then back down again to squeeze my backside teasingly. If I had breath to breathe, it would have been taken away as we once more fell into that hazy twilight place of mutual ecstasy.
The sun was setting in the gloomy sky when we finally roused ourselves and showered before making our way into Dunvegan and our new shop. The workmen had delivered some things, the new paint had been applied and all I was waiting on now were the shipments of clothing, accessories and some other things. I also planned on hiring two seamstresses, along with myself, to make original designs when warranted or wanted. The small, flickering lights in the small village began to come on finally and the lazy, yet comfortable feeling of this town rose up. We’d made a few friends, both of us and many of them stopped by now to take a look around, have a laugh and chat for a bit.
It was nice to meet new people and I appreciated how quickly they’d taken to us and welcomed us so warmly. But it wasn’t until much later, as Jasper and I sat around the computer and spoke with Rose, Em, Bella, Edward, Carlisle and Esme, that I felt the true happiness they each gave me. Our songs had changed, taking us all in different directions for now, but our familial melody lingered. Holding onto Jasper’s hand, we spoke for at least an hour via Skype before logging off. Jazz started reading and I began to write letters home to our other family….to Jacob, to Seth, to Renee, Charlie and Sue. I had a phone date with Nessie tomorrow. It would be good to hear her sweet voice although Edward and Bella seemed a bit puzzled with her. I had a pretty good idea why….-
