-I was feeling the need. The need for speed and asked Henry if he wanted to join me on a quick trip into Forks. Jazz and I had our P.O. Box in town and it’d been days since I’d checked it. My mate was off with Edward and Emmett, hunting pretty far out…it was getting sparse….our “vegetarian” food. Lately, we’d had to widen our scope to find anything of true sustenance. The house was quiet, Esme was the only other one home (Rose was with Ryder, Bella was, I assumed at the cottage and Carlisle was on duty at the hospital. I’m pretty sure Ness was either with Bells or on her own, probably camping out in her treehouse with Sir Balto, a name I affectionately created for Jake. Speaking of Renesmee, I was a bit concerned. She’d fed off a human last night, I’d “seen” it. But he’d gotten away..and he knew what she was. Or suspected. This could be detrimental..for all of us). Henry agreed to come with but Esme opted for staying home, she was busy on her laptop so with a cheeky wave and assurances we’d be back soon, I took off with my maker through the woods, laughing as he lagged behind a few centimeters. He was letting me win. Cheater…..-
-Just as we reached the edge of Forks proper, we slowed down and moved into a slow walk. It was amazing….Henry was the most “human” vampire I knew. He moved into it so easily, I almost envied him that finesse. Glancing up at the patchy, cloudy sky overhead, the rumble of thunder off in the distance, I tilted my head then grinned-Better hurry. Going to rain, soon. And by soon I mean…-smirking as tiny drops began to scatter down- Now. –Henry laughed, motioning me forward as we stepped onto the main street. It wasn’t crowded today at all, it was as though people were preparing for the coming storm by staying indoors. It was a short walk to the small post office that serviced all of Forks and I fished our key from my back pocket, told Henry I’d just pop in and be right back. Which I was in just under 2 minutes, holding all I’d pulled out and slipping the pile inside of my jacket, zipping it up carefully. We made it back home in record time (and just ahead of the skyfall of rain), and I took myself off to the room I shared with Jazz while Henry went to his own room. He was leaving in a matter of days, to return to Volterra…and Aro. To fulfill his part of the bargain. I was really going to miss him. More than I would have thought possible. And I also knew once he left, I wasn’t going to see him again. Ever. I didn’t need to be clairvoyant to know that. He’d as much said so, in his own way, several times.-
-Flopping down on the bed, the pattering sound of rain hitting the glass windows that made up our room, I pulled out the mail I’d retrieved and went through it…advert, bill, flyer, bill, bill, coupons, bill….and one elegant looking envelope bearing the symbols of Forks High School. Hmmm…..wonder what it is. Deftly opening the envelope, I pull out the smooth, shiny, embossed invitation and read over it.Just once. Had it been 5 years already? Tempus fugit….time flies indeed! Running a finger over it again, I looked up and stilled as the entire room shifted, going dark in a burst of shadows. Images began to flicker and swirl, growing brighter, bolder and I watched in fascination as the vision coalesced like a whirring merry go round. Oh! Oh. And then it was gone and I was as I’d always been. The keeper of things that had yet to happen. Things that COULD change. Just depended on choices, decisions yet to be made. But regardless, I knew know. And I knew what I had to do. It was time, I’d known it before…but now? Yes. Now they would all come to the same place I’d been in for a while now. Sighing as another thought took hold though. Reunion. SHOOOOPPPPIIINNNGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!! And they wouldn’t put up too much a fight. Resistance was futile when it came to me. Bouncing up, I could hardly wait for Jazz to get back so we could speak. Oohh! Quickly pulling out two of the advertisements from the mail! Yep! New shop opening in Seattle! And it looked FAB FAB FAB!!!-
