Trouble in the pack?

[Jacob Black]

-Jake had come to La Push to see his sister Rachel, she hadn't been in so Jake decided to go see Emily. They had been friends, just because he was a pack of his own now no reason not to visit. There was a agreement that packs would inform each other, when things might get dangerous. Emily would get the idea that something was wrong, as Jake hadn't visited much it would be understandable. The last visit was to inform them of Ryder, it hadn't gone down well however he was excepted. Jake walked to the door which was already open, this was not uncommon, the pack would go on patrol. Leaving Emily to cook for them when they returned. Jake could smell it, Blueberry muffins! His mouth started to water, his stomach speaking unspoken words of hunger. He hadn't eaten since breakfast and that was 4 hours ago... FOUR HOURS!!!! no wonder his stomach was sounding like a grizzly bear.-

Emily..... are you here? it's Jacob.

Jake in here.... come in, i'm just getting the muffins out. Your just in time.
*It always gave her comfort when one of the guys were here, they made the place feel more homely. Emily was shocked to hear Jake's voice, a smile spread across her scared face. She knew he would be after a muffin, they were always hungry. No matter how many muffins she made, they would always argue over the last one.*

Hey Jacob, to what do we owe the pleasure.... *She could see Jake's eyes wondering to the muffins, the adam's apple moving as he was swallowing the saliva building in his mouth. Chuckling as he looked up at her.* Go ahead Jacob the boys won't miss one or two of them, just mind they are only out of the oven. They are still...... *To late Jake was already digging into the muffin* Hot! *Shaking her head as Jake moaned about it was hot*

-Jake walked into Emily's and Sam's house.- Hi Emily, was just down to see Rachel. She's not home so i thought i would drop in, catch up on everyone. -Them muffins! Every time Jake inhaled the smell intensified, they would be warm, falling apart in his mouth as he took each bite. He tried looking at Emily while he spoke, forcing his attention away from them. Emily was a fantastic cook!

"Go ahead Jacob the boys won't miss one or two of them" Jake was already there as Emily said go ahead, he didn't hear her words of warning. Taking his first bite....-

Jeez...... That's hot!!!! -Swallowing as quick as he could to stop the burn on his cheek. Emily had got him a glass of water, Jake drunk it hoping to ease the burn Setting the muffin down with hesitation. He just wanted to eat it!-
So how is things? the guys all getting on okay.... the new wolves settling in well?

*Getting Jake a glass of water, silly boys... their mouths were always bigger than their brains. Always food for thought. Jake had got even bigger since she had last seen him, really filling out into the man he was meant to be*

They are all doing well, as usual eating things quicker than i can cook. *Raising her eyebrow at him with the muffin, they both grinned. Nothing would ever change, Emily liked Jacob. No matter the divide in the pack, Emily would always welcome him in her home. They continued talking of Billy, Billy was Jacob's dad. Just as Emily forgot about how Jake was no longer part of Sam's pack. They was talking like nothing had ever happened. Sam entered the door, Emily looked straight into her lovers eyes. They smiled till Sam saw Jacob sitting there. Sam had a look on his face that Emily couldn't quite read... it was confused, hurt, yet looked as if Sam had done something wrong.*

Hello my love, is everything okay?

Sam walked in from his latest patrol and his smile faded when he saw Jacob Black sitting there enjoying a muffin. The smell of her baking filled his nose and made him hungry, but that was the least of his worries. Nodding once at Jacob before walking fourth and pulling Emily to him to kiss her lips once and peck playful kisses over her face as he always did. She giggled and made him smile. "Yes, I'm fine. Do you think you can give Jake and I a minute?" He smiled to reassure her that all was well. "Pack stuff."

*Emily giggled as Sam kissed her face, as he always did. The scars although unspoken still bothered him, Emily thought this was always his way of saying it will never happen again. She never asked, just left it as their little thing.

"Yes, I'm fine. Do you think you can give Jake and I a minute?"

Nodding her head, this was not something that she ever moaned about. She knew Sam had another life, their love was strong. Emily excepted that pack life would sometimes have to come in the way, she wouldn't change anything about her life.*

Sure.... i have things to be getting on with. It was nice to see you again Jake, don't leave it so long next time. Be sure to take a extra muffin back home for Billy. *Emily kissed Sam goodbye, making her way to do the washing that had piled up.*

-Nodding to Sam as he came into the house, things were still tense between the two of them. The look on Sam's face told him today there was something else wrong, could there be Vamps that Jake didn't know about yet? Jake took a bite into his muffin, yes..... it was ready to eat now. As Sam and Emily did their usual playful kissing, Jake polished off the rest of the muffin in record time. Then the words he wasn't shocked to hear, since the face Sam had come in with. Jake had been expecting it, time for Alpha talk.-

Thanks Emily, i won't leave it so long next time. Look after yourself, thanks for the muffins.

-Waiting for Sam to take a seat, as he picked out a muffin for himself. It seemed to be more for the use of having something in his hands, then for something to eat.-

What's going on.... some Vamps you need a hand with? or is it the young ones?

He knew the day would come when this problem would have to be confronted head on and he knew it wouldn't go over well. Jacob was part of their family now, he still considered him a brother but it was...different. You could feel it in the air. Taking a seat at the table after Emily left the room he grabbed a muffin with no intent to eat, he did that when things were bothering him, keeping his hands busy.

"Not exactly. There's been talk Jake. Concerns." He let that sink in for a few silent minutes before elaborating. "We backed off because you imprinted, and we'd never do anything to hurt Renesmee. But...Ryder. We cannot be certain he won't be a threat to our people."

-Jake let Sam talk before he jumped on the defensive, he didn't blame them after all. Jake had the same worries, male hybrids were said to carry the venom. Just because Nessie had turned out fine, well she had done a few things Jake hadn't been to keen on. However Ness is no more a threat, than any of the Cullens.-

I know what your saying Sam, he's alive now. He's growing to be a sweet boy, i know it's early stages Sam. He is also half human though, he was allowed to be brought into the world. I myself was concerned about having a male hybrid into the Cullen family.... my family also. Do you understand that Sam? you are my family, i think of you, all of you as brothers. That also goes for the Cullen's, they are also my family. Can you not trust that i have my eye on the situation? I'm still a Alpha, as you know the pack sometimes have to come first. I would not have my pack near a Vamp i consider a threat to them. If you come after Ryder.... -Jake sighed at the words that was about to come out, he wasn't sure he could or even meant this. However it would buy them time.-

If you come after Ryder.... while i consider him a innocent, i will stand against you. I will and have always fought for what i believe is right, my pack will be the first people you have to get through. I hope you understand why it is the way it is, i love you as a brother Sam. I will kill for what is right.....

Sam listened to him speak, how much Jacob had grown in the last five years was astonishing really. He wasn't a boy, he was a man. Sam was proud to have him as a brother and completely respected his words. Lowering his head with a sigh, he looked back up to meet Jacob's gaze. "I know where you stand Jacob, but the minute he becomes a threat we will take action. Alpha to Alpha, I'll allow you to keep an eye on the situation, but do not neglect to inform me of any threats he may pose as he grows. Carlisle said he doesn't grow as fast as Renesmee, is that a bad thing?"

-Nodding in agreement, a big breath escaped him when Sam said that they would wait till the threat became evident.-

Thank you Sam, Alpha to Alpha... i wouldn't let anyone become a danger to my pack, or yours. The agreement of keeping each other informed, stands as always. Never doubt me brother, i may seem like my judgement is clouded. When pack is concerned, my judgement is crystal clear. We both have to make decisions we don't wish to make, it would be easier to look the other way. This is what we were born into, a choice we made and have to live with.

Ryder's growth is slower, we think this is VERY GOOD! Nessie had a hard time growing so quick, that she found it overwhelming. Ryder will have more time as a child to adapt, we are hoping that makes the everything much easier to handle. Trust me brother, like i trust you.

He took a bit of the muffin in his hand and his stomach thanked him for the nourishment that he finally divulged into. So moist and warm, he ate as Jacob spoke. Nodding in agreement when he needed to, then swallowed the last bit to hear him start to speak of Ryder's growth. Hearing that it may be better that he grew slower made his mind ease a bit better. "Well, I guess all we can do is prepare for the worst and hope for the better. I'll always have your back but I must put my pack above our friendship with the Cullen family. Which brings me to my next question, how long do they plan on staying here? You have to know they are the talk of the town, Renesmee as well. Are they concerned?"

I know what you mean, i have to do the same with my pack.

-They both nodded in agreement with that, least that part was all settled. The next thing Sam brought up made him swallow hard.- The Cullen's are talking about what to do for the best, it's a touchy subject as you can imagine. I will inform you when we come to a agreement, it should be soon.

-With that Jake got up, ready to take his leave. This subject was to sore for him, again being pulled by two choices. To leave with them, leaving his pack behind. The young ones still needed a Alpha, so young that they joined the youngest yet. Or to stay with his pack hoping Nessie would stay, if not living without the love of his life.... his whole world.-

Sam nodded and stood, extending a hand for Jacob to shake. Knowing the Cullen's leaving was a tender subject for him, he allowed that answer and didn't pry for more. The sooner they left, the sooner things calmed down with their pack and he could focus more on himself and Emily and maybe starting a family. "Thanks for stopping by Jake, you're always welcome." He smiled and watched Jacob leave, lowering his head and letting out a sigh of relief, somewhat feeling better about things. They just had to wait to see how it all panned out.
