Renesmee
The name echoed in his mind like the sounds of soft music playing being carried by the wind. He couldn't get this girl out of his mind. She meant something to him, he didn't exactly know what either. He just knew there was this connection to her and he couldn't understand the meaning of it. Huilen wasn't much help with all of his questions. He remembered their visit to Forks that winter after the insistence of Alice that many lives were in danger unless he stepped forward to show proof of living peacefully. The day he found out there was another like him...another who could relate to him, it overjoyed him and in the same breath...scared him. The sweet angelic face of Renesmee that cold winter day was still etched in his mind. She was scared and he was her last hope at life. The Volturi wanted to destroy her for fear of the unknown. Meeting her brown eyes, he was almost transfixed, even then.
Edward seemed to find something amusing in his own private thoughts he wouldn't share Had he known of his curiosity? If he did he never spoke a word of it. After going back with the Cullen's to meet everyone in a private safe setting, he learned about the wolf who was "imprinted" to Renesmee. Bella and Edward didn't see too thrilled about that, but he never uttered a word. For now, she held his curiosity.
Now that she'd grown up to an almost full grown age, his curiosity had only expanded. He wanted to ask Carlisle so many questions about his kind, things and possibilities. Living his life for the last 155 years had only made him realize there was so much out there. Could he ever have a family of his own? With a normal human woman? Or with a hybrid like himself? There was so much that he had to figure out, so much he wanted to know. Their lips had almost touched, nothing but a hair separated him from her perfect pink lips and then...she had to go. There was no closure for him and the feelings he was beginning to feel for her only confused him more. Had she felt the same way that day?
Was she his destiny, or was he just wishfully thinking?
<Renesmee....> Her name rolled off of his tongue like the sweetest tasting honey. He had to see her.....
Soon. Very Soon.
