-she had been in her tree-house for a couple of hours now. There was no way she was going back into the main house, not anytime soon. Seeing her mom and dad staring at each other was making her sick. And Ryder wouldn't stop crying. Papa and Gramma were staring at her like she was some sort of science experiment; she knew what Papa was going to ask her, knew what he wanted to do: more friggin' tests. She just wanted to be NORMAL! No more poking, no more prodding, no more charting her growth and trying to "figure her out".-
-and she definitely didn't want to be around anymore damn couples. She had made love with Jake just last night, but today? She didn't want to see him or hear his voice or anything. It felt like a red hot wire was coiled in her stomach; she was angry, so freaking angry. Ryder's crying, her parents, aunts and uncles swooning all over each other.. It was disgusting her and she didn't know why. And that made her even angrier. She didn't understand why she felt this way!!-
-she let out another sigh and reached under her bed for the bottle she had hidden not long before; her parents didn't know it was there. Hell, Alice didn't even know she had it. She had gotten it on her way back from South America: Vodka. It stung like hell going down, but still had the desired effect. She hadn't even shared it with Jake; it was all hers.-
-she leaned against the wall and put the bottle to her lips, taking a small sip and loving the feeling of it burning her throat and down into her stomach. Maybe this could make it go away... maybe the alcohol would numb the anger, the worry, the hurt...-
-and that voice that kept nagging her in the back of her head-
Death by Fire. Don't give in. Men.... are not...... good......
