-Jazz had taken off with Em to hunt, Rose was busy. Carlisle was in town, he'd been called into the hospital, Esme had gone along with him to take care of some things in town. She'd asked me if I wanted to join her, but for some reason, I'd opted out. Edward had given me a long look, asking if I was alright. I gave him a quizzical look, peeking at him over the rim of the book I was reading (Pride and Prejudice. It NEVER got old no matter how many times I'd read it), arching a brow. He laughed and said the day I turned down a trip into town, where there were SHOPS, something HAD to be wrong. Giving a delicate, one shouldered shrug, I beamed a playful grin-I'm having a vision. Want to know what it is? It's me, kicking your butt.-He barked out a laugh and after Es and Carlisle left, hung back a bit, asking, in a more solemn tone, if I were truly alright. Nodding, I marked my place in the book and looked up at my brother, his eyes golden and glowing.-Really, Edward. I'm fine. I just, you know, sometimes, don't ALWAYS feel like shopping. -he gave a slow nod and made to leave, running long, pale fingers along the edge of the sofa I was sitting on, close to my head. We shared a long look then he finally nodded again and was gone to join Bella in their cottage, I'm sure. I watched him, a blur of color and movement as he sped off into the forest. The cloudy, dull looking sky rumbled a bit and I grinned.Probably should have told him a storm was coming but he'd make it home before it really opened up. And not even two minutes later, a streak of lightening zigzagged across the sky, a flare of brilliant light that illuminated the living room, bouncing off the glass in dizzying waves that had me seeing..something...-

-A table. Dirty and rusted, slivers of silver etched through the grime. Walls, they wept with the 'drip drip' of water, echoing in an eerie melody that was both menacing and yet, soothing in the oddest way. Voices, two females, one male, deep and gruff as he issued orders. Images flickered like shadows, flashes of grey, monochromatic flutters that swept across my vision, like a slow played movie that dipped out in some spots. A girl. On the table, strapped down by the women..nurses? Their uniforms were starched with pristine wonder, caps set on their heads at jaunty angles, each face held a bored and yet, almost gleeful, look. Such eyes they had. Malicious and jaded. I shivered, lost in this vision. What was I seeing? Who was that pitiful bit on the gurney? Her head, roughly shaven, knicked in spots, driblets of blood slipping slowly onto the table. Hauntingly familiar, she was and yet no one I recognized consciously. The man, a doctor judging by the coat and authoritative cadence of his rugged tone as he told one of the nurses to hand him the wooden stick. A light feminine tone resounded-Doctor? Shouldn't we at least anesthetize her? -his answer was quick and negative- No need. Do your job and hand me the bit for her mouth-watching in horror as the tiny female patient's mouth was pried open, a thick wedge of wood settled between her teeth. Static again, this time a sizzling sound that snapped with electricity, bursts of sparks, white and radiant and then the plane of my minds eye exploded into a pantera of gleaming translucence and nothing more...-

-gasping out loud into the empty house, blinking. Which was ironic since I didn't NEED to do either, blink or gasp. Just reflexive actions of a life I didn't remember. What had I just seen? Nothing looked familiar and yet the oddest nagging feeling was tugging at my brain. I felt no impending sense of doom or alarm. More as though every fiber of my being was screaming for me to wake up? Rubbing my hands along my thighs in a nervous twitter I didn't even realize I was doing. Suddenly, the house seemed too large, too quiet. Perhaps I ..I should join Em and Jazz...to hunt. Yes.-
