*After a while, you realize you'll never get something you've always desired you learned to live with it and accept it for what it is. Once it was evident he'd never be able to give Rosalie the gift of being a mother, he felt a twinge of pain in his heart as he'd always wanted to be a father one day. Instead of dwelling on it and making Rosalie feel worse, he let it go and enjoyed what he DID have. Once Edward gave them the news that Bella was pregnant and it was confirmed that male vampires can reproduce but females can't he could sense Rosalie's guilt, grief and anger. For so long it had just been the two of them and now he found himself envious of his brother Edward. Again, he pushed it deep within and carried on knowing what he did have was eternal life with the most beautiful woman he'd laid eyes on. She was his forever and for that he was grateful and blessed.*
*The day Zoe entered their lives, he found it a blessing to see Rosalie have a friend. Having Renesmee in the family was such a blessing but it only reminded Rose that she'd never be able to have that. Then the greatest miracle was bestowed upon them with the gift of a baby. In the strangest twists of life, they welcomed Ryder Tennessee into the world, all because of the love of a friend. One brave woman who knew the sacrifices, who knew the meaning. For that he would be forever grateful for her gift to them. As he watched Ryder sleep, with Rosalie finally taking a break to have a warm bath, he was left alone with his...son. The words seemed alien like coming from his mouth. Mother, father, son, parent. To think he'd be a father after all this time, was quite a miracle indeed. Not a day went by that he didn't thank Carlisle for this life, and God for the miracle.*
