What a hectic week it had been. She and Jasper had been left to watch over Nessa while Bella and Edward were out of town. Her original thoughts were of how easy it would be, and fun. She'd planned to start the time simple with movies and other such things. Then she was going to take Nessa to do some shopping for her upcoming birthday. In reality what had happened was a bit more chaotic. The movie was forgotten when they had discovered Nessa and Jacob getting a little more than friendly on the sofa. This had led to over an hour of teen angst and "the world is out to get me" attitude. Fortunately it was all smoothed over easily enough with a trip to get a dress for Nessa. Bella and Edward were on the way home, and would soon deal with that issue first hand. While it was true Nessa was maturing faster than they could have imagined, she still didn't know as much as she initially thought she did. This was something Alice had made her realize in the end and she managed to keep everything good between her and Nessa. Now time found her sitting on the banks of a gently flowing river with her beloved. They had just gone out for a meal and were enjoying the quiet, and time alone. She pushed all the thoughts of the week aside, and leaned back against Jasper. His arms tightened around her, making her feel safe and secure. His mere presence always managed to relax her. She looked up and he was smiling down at her. She kissed him gently before turning her gaze up to the stars. They were bright out tonight. The full moon had come and gone a few nights ago, and the stars now took over the darkness. Alice smiled and did her best to enjoy the moment because she knew in their world, moments like this didn't last forever.
