Nessie was a marvel to behold, each month she'd outgrow all the beautiful clothes, each day a new outfit and as many pictures were taken as we could catch of her. Making 'Childhood' scrapbooks to document each grand day. Everything about our Nessie was special and precious as not one of us had ever seen such intelligence, grace and maturity along with her acceptance of her rapidly growing form.
Bella and Edward were patient with my shopping obsession for Nessie, on occasion Bella, Rose, or Esme would accompany me. On-line shopping from around the world became such an easier way to get exactly what I wanted, what I hoped she would also find beautiful.
Jasper was of course the most patient with me ~ he was just as fiercely protective of Nessie as the rest of the family. Watching her grow, hunt and the compassion and love for all the humans and wolves was really starting to rub off on Jazz. He was starting to see the world through her eyes, he loved this frame of mind and never wanted to be like he was long ago, or look like one of the Volturi. Jazz would whisper every now and again that Nessie helped him as did both Bella and I. He loved my deep amber eyes, that o
moment of Nessie's 'Childhood'; but when the day came for everyone to part, Bella presented each of us with an updated Ipad, we'd still receive photos to keep abreast of each new achievement, that beguiling smile that greeted out days made the separation bare able.
Jacob was indeed part of the family, and after a bit of time both Jazz and I grew use to his distinctive scent. Our friendship with the wolves had become a great blessing as well. Emily and Sam were sweet enough to accept out wedding gifts. Jacob had gone ahead and explained to them that this was just 'Alice's' way. If she liked you, you were going to be spoiled. Though Jazz and I were not as close with them as when I would normally pick gifts, the whole 'not being able to see the outcome' thing made it a most difficult task for me. I had no wish to offend them in anyway, in fact I wanted more than anything to make their lives as easy and loving, as they helped ours to become. I'd finally decided to give them a stock portfolio, they would have access to anything they needed, and their future along with that of their children and their educations would be taken care of. I sent a little note explaining that I happened to be a stock genius and to please trust I had only their best interests at heart. That I wanted to give back some of the security they'd left Jazz and I with after all their help. I also threw in a prepaid credit card, so that they could do as they wished, whatever would make them the happiest. I secretly hoped they'd have children, so I could spoil them as well!
Jazz had really missed Peter, we'd not been able to tell him what was going on when we'd sent both he and Charlotte to the house, and Jazz had wanted to form a closer relationship with his brother. That in it self was another impact that the little family of Edward, Bella and Nessie had upon our lives. We did want some time to ourselves as well, going down to the Amazon had reminded me of when we'd first met, we'd fallen deeply in love and traveled for two years, loving and discovering every marvel around before we'd found and adopted the Cullens. It had also been just over sixty years since we'd been to Europe, Asia and Africa. The trip to Italy to see the Volturi did NOT count!
We'd made our goodbye's when everyone was going their own paths. Heading towards Wyoming and Montana, both Jazz and Peter loved the Rocky mountains and the thrill of hunting big game. We'd stayed near Peter and Charlotte for almost two years. The guys had built and rebuilt our 'sleeping' cabin a total of eight times during our stay. Jazz and I were back to our old passionate selves ~ making love throughout the mountains both day and night. We'd all thought the cabin would be strong enough to withstand our 'no longer quiet' love fests. Peter teased Jazz mercilessly, and after the sixth rebuilt Charlotte joined in on the teasing of us both as well. We'd just stand there with the radiant perm grins in place and sigh. What could I say? Though we didn't express as much 'Public displays of Affection' we'd always been euphorically in love and passionate lust from that first night we had met in Philadelphia. Tortuous teasing one another for hours upon hours sometimes days before unleashing upon one another, all the pent up need to ease the ache.
The four of us had traveled back and forth into Canada both betting and competing about whom could take down the biggest game. Peter and Jazz would rough house through the peaks and trees of the mountains. Charlotte and I would shop on-line, if we weren't redecorating their cabin or ours. Neither of us had to worry about the boys, quick scans and I knew all was well, for the first time in years Charlotte was able to relax. Charlotte grew restless, this time that we'd spent together had been the longest they'd stayed in one place, and around the same people. She'd inquired about South America, I'd recounted the wonder and beauty of the Amazon, filled with so much zest and life, I insisted that they should go and explore the continent they had yet to conqueror.
We'd made our goodbye's with the boys having a closer relationship than they'd ever thought possible. We'd made plans to keep in touch and try to spend more time with each other, that we'd try to get together at least every five years or so.
Before leaving for Europe Jasper wanted to go to the Artic Circle, he'd always wanted to take down a polar bear. I already knew of course that he'd get his wish, and couldn't wait to see that smile upon his face when the day came. After it came and went, we'd hopped the first plan to Iceland, exploring one of the little islands we'd had yet to visit. We ended up not staying very long, too many people and not enough game. Jazz had come so far in the last three years, conquering and controlling his bloodlust. We were past ready to explore the world again, as I'd said it'd been over sixty years for either of us.
I was ecstatic to delve into the fashions and curious to see what had and hasn't changed since that time. We'd had a marvelous naughty time in Amsterdam, exploring some of our edgier fantasies that we'd held for years in check. We discovered that we both really liked me in latex! Painting one another's bodies before pulling it off slowly, with teasing precision, it gave a whole new meaning to the building up the passion, building to that moment, weekend love fests every two or three days had now become a normal constant.
Jazz kept me calm, I did miss our extended family and especially Bella and Nessie. She'd grown so much, taller into the body of a teenager, she seemed to love ever gift we'd sent, that child had to be by far thee most chic well dressed child in the states if not the world! Her radiant smile was all the thanks I'd ever needed. Jazz and I spoke about Nessie, wondering whether her feelings for Jacob were starting to change yet. I couldn't see, which always frustrated me, but I didn't dare call and voice it to Edward or Bella, that was the last thing they needed to worry about, and they'd know where the current state of affairs between the two stood anyways.
Jazz presented me with a bit of a surprise, he kept changing his mind, on purpose to keep me guessing; but he'd bought two porches to race up and down the Autoban. He'd loved the 'Thank you' I given in return. As he'd drive, I'd be riding him, slow, teasing before we'd find somewhere to pull over. We'd learned after the first time, the car had pretty been totaled out with all the body work damage our love making had caused, so now we tried to be a little safer, taking out trees and earth rather than metal. Actually we hadn't stayed very long in Bavaria either. It had survived two world wars, but not Jasper and I. We'd toppled two buildings with a few hours of pleasure!
We'd stay about a week in each city throughout Europe, except no trip to Italy, I didn't want to get any closer to the Volturi than we already were. We did end up staying in Monaco for two weeks, the fashion, balls and nightclubs were too much to resist, Jazz took me out everynight. We'd spend the days in the Casino's, though I had to purposely lose every now and again; if we weren't in the casino we'd be racing though the city. I simply adored the sharp hairpin curves, the dips and climb of the streets. The best part was not having to worry about being caught, I'd see the police long before they ever thought of us!
We'd swam from Greece to Egypt, Jazz loved tangling and fighting before draining the sharks that dared come upon us. The blood itself was incredibly salty, but it was something different, and we just went with the flow. I think one of the highlights had been making love under the moonlight in the middle of the sea, Jasper's luminous skin gleaming across the water, we were two floating jewels bobbing with passion. We'd waited until dark before we went through the Valley of the Kings, and Giza. From there it was on to the Nile. Wrestling large crocodiles was an interesting battle of both wills and strength. Stealing way down into the Congo, there was so much room to stay away from the local tribes. We stayed wild in the jungle for three weeks, doing nothing more than hunting and making passionate love, so loud that the animals would scatter as though doom was about to fall the place. One of the biggest challenges, hunting wise was taking down hippo's. They might appear as though they're large teddy bears, but they are the furthest thing from it, they are by FAR one of the strongest animals I'd taken down, and Jazz had so much fun fighting with them.
We'd skipped across to India, where I fell in love with both Bollywood and the gorgeous colors, fabrics and patterns I saw around. I had so many things shipped back to the warehouse in Seattle, I was a little afraid to see the amassment of our adventures! Jazz took me to shows, we danced, laughed and loved. We'd bought a rather ornate copy of the Kama Sutra, and were a little surprised to fine we'd tried quite a few already. The next challenge would be to complete the book! After a week hunting tigers, we'd emerged to discover the date, the years had flown by so quickly, it seemed as though we'd only left a week earlier.
Bella and Edward would be celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary, Bella's Birthday was just around the corner, and Nessie would be turning five, but looked every bit the charming epitome of classic beauty as she'd turned into a young woman over night. Sharing all this information with Jasper, he knew I wanted to get home, needed to start planning for the parties and gifts. It was more than past time we went back to Forks, the Cullens and home.
