Bella nodded in agreement as she looked into Edward's golden eyes. "Yes, I think it would do us some good. Stretch out a bit." They'd been debating for months now, whether to travel to New Hampshire and live alone for a while with Renesmee. Let her experience school, friends, life in a different area. Renee still in the dark of the exact truth and Charlie understanding more and more each day, but keeping the secret....vampires became scarce in the area of Forks. Renesmee refused to leave without Jake or be separated from him for a year. "It's only a year..." Bella chimed in. "I don't care! I'm not going!" Renesmee, now at the "age" of fifteen, and quite stubborn like her mother, stood her ground.
Edward had taken it upon himself to talk to Jacob and come to an arrangement. Jake left Leah in charge of their area for the year, while Jake traveled with them. Edward had bought a little house in the quietest town, out in the country. It was like a lake house, surrounded by water. Renesmee and Jacob spent their days hunting in the nearby woods, or frolicking in the lake. Bella could tell there was starting to be a spark between them. They remained friends, but the way Renesmee looked at him...it seemed to be a crush. She decided to wait for Renesmee to come to her about it. Just seeing her daughter so happy, made her overjoyed.
Edward and Bella enrolled in the nearby college, so she may get a chance to experience college life. The story was that Renesmee was their sister, and Jake their cousin. Being the "legal adults" they were their guardians. Renesmee enrolled in the local high school along with Jake. He was a Junior, she was a sophomore. She loved school only because Jacob went too. Bella had always wanted a degree in teaching, and decided she'd start working towards it. Edward retook some medical courses to bide time, and just to be around Bella on campus. Sneaking glances at one another when no one was looking, and being a couple in their privacy.
They called and visited the family often, and decided to stay a second year. Six months into that second year was when Jacob was called back to fend off nomad vampires that had come to Forks, he had to go back. Truth be told they all missed Forks. Carlisle and Esme had gone to a different location for his medical career, Rose and Emmett were away while Rose got her degree in nursing. Alice and Jasper visited their friends Charlotte and Peter as well as lived alone for a while. Soon they all found their way moving back to Forks. Transferring all their college credits back to Seattle, and enrolling Renesmee into Forks High School wielded many memories. The story went back to Renesmee being the niece of Edward. All seemed right in the world, as they moved back into their little cottage. Nothing had changed, not a thing out of place.
The passing months as she watched her daughter become a young lady before her eyes astounded her in many ways. Waving goodbye as she and Jake left to go spend the day at La Push beach she smiled and returned inside. Seeing Edward reading on the chaise lounge, she closed her eyes and opened her thoughts to him. She didn't get five images through her mind when he sped to her, wrapped his arms around her and swooped her in his arms, flashing to their bedroom. A squeal of laughter escaped her mouth as she said "But we have to study!" He just grinned and said, "We have all the time in the world." Closing the door to their room for some alone time.
