Bella sat on the sofa, practicing more. She had all night. Renesmee snuggled into Jake's chest as she slept soundly. Edward, Carlisle, Jasper, Alice and Esme all telling her what she did wrong. It was more important to try not to alert suspicion in Renee' than it was for Charlie. He wasn't as meticulous her mom. Renee' noticed everything, she had an eye for detail...well, details that included her daughter. She knew her well enough to read her face like a book.
She practiced human movements, lifting shoulders to breathe, taking small heaps of oxygen to avoid her scent, blinking, talking like her old self. Bella didn't want to say it aloud, but she felt it was pointless to practice. Once Renee saw Renesmee....it would all be over. Unless....she had Jake take her for the day, and her mom never knew about her. There were possibilities. But it wouldn't be fair to her, to any of them...denying her to know Renesmee. She was such a wonderful child, a true and pure gift.
As the hours drug on, she began to wish she'd left like Rose and Emmett. After all, it would be safer on them all. They'd discussed it only briefly, as suspicions were arising about Carlisle's age. Jake refused to surrender on that fight, and she understood. Had anyone wanted to take Edward away from her, she'd die. It almost happened once before. Charlie had since gone home and she was thrilled to see him again. He was more laid back, just tell me the obvious, kinda guy. Renee, when she sensed something wrong, she interrogated. Relentless until she got the answers she desired. Mentally, Bella was exhausted. Physically, she could do almost anything.
Edward suggested they take Renesmee home, shower, and rest (mentally) for the hours to come. When Nessie woke, she'd need to be informed of Renee' and that even though she smells appetizing, she was not food. So far, she'd done great around Charlie...not one slip. Bella secretly prayed that stayed the same...for her too. If Renee smelt anything like Charlie, or better....she would really need to focus on her control.
