*Feeling a tightness in his own chest from the words of his family, he tried to calm them all and himself all at once. He gave Alice's hand a light squeeze and looked at everyone before speaking*
"Alice and I have decided to travel a bit and hopefully settle down in Scotland. The weather there is similar to the weather here. We are both fascinated by the sites. I believe Alice has even been looking for homes there"
*Smiling proudly at Alice, he watched as he waited for her to speak. Also, tried to keep his influence on everyone, to keep them from any pain. His own pain, from having to say goodbye, was hurting him more than he would ever let anyone know*

-I was so attuned to Jazz, that I knew he was hurting as much as we all were. He just hid it better in his quest to make sure the rest of our family stayed calm. My eyes fell on each member of the family, lingering on Nessa as she exploded and ran out. She didn't mean those words. Not at all. I knew it. But....we all had a journey to make and sometimes....the roads that you thought were leading you away...were really leading you home. Nodding and speaking low-
"Yes. We'll either settle in Portree or up in the Highlands." I shifted in my seat slightly. "We've already spoken to J, told him what papers we'd all need most likely. I've been...expecting this. I hope no one minds that we took the initiative .."
-Trailing off and leaning close to Jasper. It was no one person's fault that this was happening. We'd already tempted the Fates as it was by lingering. But I knew both Bella and Edward were suffering from a misplaced sense of guilt.-

Looking around at my family - gathered together for what might be the last time for awhile, my still heart ached a little. It will be most difficult for Bella and Edward, and of course Nessie. Bella's never had to pick up and go like this. Putting a brave smile on my face, I turn to Carlisle.
"As your father has left our destination up to my choosing, I put some thought into it. I considered London, his birthplace, but we've decided on Rochester, New York. It's another of the wettest places in the country. We haven't been back there since Rose joined us, and we did like it there. In addition, it is clear across the country from Forks. This way, there will also be a home base in the States, since the rest of you will be in Europe."

Seeing my dearest Nessa run from the room, screaming that she hated her parents, hated us hurt. I knew that she was grieving having to leave her best friend behind, the home that she had known all of her short life, but it was what had to be done. Moving was the only option at this point.
I smiled at Esme and gently put my arm around her waist, pulling her closer to me so that I could press my lips to her forehead. "I shall miss you all, very much. It's time to start a new life, for each of us. I'm sure that there will be new weddings," I said, my eyes lingering on Alice knowingly, "and new cars," with that last sentence my eyes went to Rose and Emmett; she had a better car collection that Edward did, but hell should follow quickly if you were to voice that audibly. Edward cleared his throat which caused me to smile and I finished what I had started to say in the first place. "Just know that no matter where the roads lead us, we will always be family."
I let go of Esme and stepped forward, turning ever so slightly so as to see the gigantic Cullen family crest that graced the wall. "That crest is to remind us that we are family before coven." With a final smile to each of my children, I stepped forward and hugged them all, pressing kisses to the girls foreheads and giving the shoulders of the boys a squeeze. "Until we meet again. Be good, kids." I winked and then turned to my beloved Esme, making a sweeping motion towards the door where we made our way to our new beginning in New York.

*Emmett grinned and nodded, casting a look at Rose knowing there was another car she had wanted to add to her collection for a while. What most didn't know about the woman he loved was that she was a better mechanic than he was. He wouldn't voice that openly, not unless he wanted chastising comments directed at his lack of skills. Turning back to Carlisle who continued to speak, his words sinking in fully.*
{Just know that no matter where the roads lead us, we will always be a family.}
*He nodded in agreement and dropped his head feeling a sense of sadness wash over him knowing that this was the end of their life in Forks together. They'd spent time away from the family before, but this time was different. They'd all become accustomed to being together and living together and now they were on their own again. It was a new life, a new era for his little family--His wife Rose, his son Ryder and himself. It was a new beginning. Carlisle spoke again about the Cullen crest that rested on the wall and he looked up at it, remembering that the Crest not only signified their coven, but their family name. He was right, they were more than just coven, they were family. He stood and took his turn in hugging the man that gave him this life, the man he viewed as his father. Saying low as he squeezed his shoulders*
"I can't thank you enough for this life, father."
*Exchanging a smile with him, Carlisle nodded and kissed Rose on her forehead and Ryder in the same place. When he left the room with the one he looked at as a mother, he turned to Rose.*
"Ready to go pack, babe. Travel plans have to be made."
*He looked around at Edward and Jasper, his brothers, standing next to their beautiful wives, his sisters and smiled.*
"Don't ever hesitate to call us. We're still family like Carlisle said. If you break any houses, think of us."
*Letting out a rumbled laugh, he turned to kiss Rose on the cheek and whispered in her ear.*
"I'm gonna go find Nessa before we leave town. Meet you at home."
*With that, he hugged his family and then quietly left the room.*

~she smiled at Carlisle as he left the room with Esme, shaking her head with worry at how upset Renesmee was.~
I think that's a good idea, Em. Go check on her while I pack. Ryder needs to take a nap anyway.
~as Emmett left, she turned to the rest of her family and smiled at them sadly~
Bella. ~what did she say to the woman that she had wanted to hate so bad, but had ended up becoming one of her best friends?~ I'm glad that you made this decision. That you are one of us. Even though I couldn't accept it at first. ~she kissed her cheek, then repeated the gesture with Edward, Alice and Jasper~
Say goodbye, Ryder. ~the little boy blew kisses to everyone, his cheeks chunky and two pearly white teeth pinching into his lips~ BuhBye! Luff yewwwwww! ~he called, waving at them over Rose's shoulder as she carried him out of the house and back to their cottage so she could pack up their belongings~
~Forks would always be home to her. It was where she had met Zoe, where she had gotten her son, where her family had been completed. There were times to say goodbye, but for now... For now, she was just saying so long.~

Edward continued to listen to everyone around him, their thoughts that they tried to hide from him had failed as he was flooded with crashing thoughts against his barrier that he had to fight to keep up. He could hear the thoughts coming from Esme, her thoughts of a family no longer together. He knew that eventually they would have to move, but he had hoped that it would not be for another year or so, but his foolishness had caused the date of their impending move to dramatically draw closer.
He hated himself for what he had done, and he knew that Jasper had felt his inner turmoil with himself, he hated that Renesmee was going through this, he knew that it was causing her pain to consider leaving Jacob. After Carlisle's speech about 'family' made him realize that he had never considered them breaking apart, but knew eventually that they would end up back together again in a few years or so. He and Bella would seperate and go away to their own little haven; but the choice was if Renesmee would accompany them both on their journey.
"Carlisle...We will always be a family. It's in our blood" he offered a small smile, hiding behind his facade.
He gently kissed Bella on the cheek as his thumb ran across her wedding ring. They would always be a family no matter how far they were apart.
"I am going to go pack Bella" he said softly as she nodded in return as he left the room, Renesmee would not want to speak to him now, he would wait. He knew to let her cool down first.

Bella smiled softly at Emmett's joke, he could never be serious for too long. Hugging him, she stepped back then playfully hit his arm causing him to make a fake shocked face and continue to hug the others. They always had that playful relationship, he was like the brother she never had. She'd miss him and his comments, just a little. Rose's words hit her heart with love and she pulled her sister in for a tight hug. When she and Emmett left the room, Bella turned and looked up at Edward. "I'll be right there."
He nodded and left the room and she turned to Jasper and Alice. "I'm going to miss you more than you know Alice. Please promise me you'll keep in touch, I mean...I'm going to need your fashion advice you know." She said joking with a laugh that Alice matched. Hugging Jasper tight she stepped back then let her gaze fall upon her sister, her best friend. Stepping forward and taking one of Alice's hands she sighed. "I'm sorry about Henry, he's really great. I see why he did what he did, you're amazing Alice. You always were, just like you knew I'd be a part of this family, I knew you'd be my sister in more ways than one. For all you've done for my family, for me...I'll never forget it." She sighed and looked down, feeling like she'd cry. "We'll go shopping in Paris soon, and I'll try on what ever you want and be happy." Pulling her into a hug, she closed her eyes and remembered the smell of her sister and best friend, not really knowing when they'd see one another again. It couldn't be good bye, it had to be...see you later.
When she finally pulled away and stepped back giving them both a smile, she added, "See you later..." Before turning and walking out the door, contemplating going find her daughter but knowing she needed the space right now. She only hoped she'd come around, find some common ground or make a compromise...yes, a compromise.

-what do you say when there are no words left? None that could possibly encompass every single feeling that was rolling through us all.
Family.
I watched my adopted father, Carlisle, glance fondly at the crest on the wall. We may have been born of seperate blood and bone. There was nothing in what had once been human DNA to bind us all together as kin. And yet there was one thing stronger than genes. Stronger than blood.
Love.
Love bound us in an invisible web of comfort, of unconditional love, of a rapport that most people in all walks of life never know. Never feel. I stood silently, a first for me really, as everyone took their leave, said their goodbyes as it were. The ache came when my parents, when Esme and Carlisle, walked from this room where we'd all convened, as a family, for many years. Em and Rose were next, the lump in my throat grew, hugging and kissing them both and memorizing Ryder's features as he was this very moment; I knew it'd be few years before I saw him again..and he'd be a man by then...a young man with the world before him. Edward spoke softly, his deep tenor voice, always beautiful and hypnotic thick with the loss we were all feeling coloring every syllable. My eyes followed him as he left to pack and it was only when my best friend...my Bella held me close and gave that awkward but rich laugh, promising through unshed tears to let me drag her shopping that I gave a soft cry and held fast. All I could do was nod. She spoke of Henry and the pulsing throb of his loss flared bright. I had had a vision of Henry....the night he left. The road ahead for my Maker wasn't good or easy. It hurt me to know I had just let him go. It hurt to know that it was because of his almost holy for me, for his poor dead sister, Didyme, that he had voluntarily consigned himself to a life of servitude to his little brother who would show no mercy in his eternal quest to make Henry cower. To beg. I didn't want to let go of Bella. I still didn't speak. I couldn't.
What are words for when no one listens anymore to all the things NOT said? Jasper, my Jasper, still at my side, doing his best to layer me, layer Bella, with calm serenity, was struggling himself to not succumb to what was happening. I finally released my hold on Bella, I watched as the light hit her auburn hair, lighting it with a halo of pure radiance, catching all the gold and blonde highlights that the human eye never saw within her crown of glorious tresses. The room spun, I faltered and Jasper held me tight as I gasped, letting my minds eye travel forward into a future...not too distant. With a shaking hand, I covered my mouth, and let the tears finally fall, coursing down my cheeks to drip off my chin.
I cried because I saw the road ahead for each of us. I saw the good and bad. I saw the trials and tribulations we'd all endure. I saw how this would fashion us all. Nessa and Ryder. They were so unique and beautiful and ripe for their own destinies, their own stories were just beginning....
I cried because I saw it. I saw us. I saw the Cullen Family. And we were together again..and were we happy.
I felt the strong hands of Jazz spinning me around to pull me tighter into his arms, holding me close as I clung to the one anchor in the stormy sea of my life. The one thing that kept me fighting, hoping, living and dreaming.
Carlisle's words echoed through my head. {Just know that no matter where the roads lead us, we will always be a family.}
He was right. We would always have each other, no matter what. Miles might seperate us but we were all one in the best possible way. In our hearts.
I wouldn't say goodbye though. Because goodbye meant you weren't coming back. And we would. Someday, we all would.
And so I stood there in the quiet of the darkening house with my husband. The night fell in deepening waves around us and finally, Jasper pulled back, wiped my tears and kissed me sweetly before we both went off to begin our own packing. We still hadn't spoken.
We didn't need to.
Words aren't necessary when your hearts are in tune.....-
