A friend in trouble?

[Rosalie Hale]

*As stood there with the phone to my ear, listening as my father confirmed what I had thought. My friend was pregnant with a half human half vampire baby. Another Nessie. I told him that I would ready Zoe for transport back to the states ASAP. "Carlisle, thank you" I said before hanging up the phone. I took a moment to gather my thoughts before returning to Zoe's room.
She was resting quietly, the phenergan that I asked the nurse to give her I.V, working.
"Zoe, honey. Can you look at me?" I picked up her hand as she opened her eyes and turned towards me. "Zoe, I just spoke with my father. He and I both agree that you must return to the states as soon as possible. You, darling are in fact very sick. Carlisle is a wonderful doctor and I would feel so much better if you were in his care love" I stood there by her side and waited for what I told her to sink in. "Is that ok? Will you please come back to Forks with Em and I so that we can take care of you there?"

[Zoe DeBroux]

<She was resting as the medicine began to make its journey through her veins. Beginning to feel relief as her nausea and pain lessoned. Groaning every once in a while as she moved. She felt a cold hand on hers and blinked her eyes open slowly, weakly. Listening to Rose explain that she talked to her father, Carlisle...such a good man. She had the pleasure of meeting him a time or two while he and his beautiful stunning wife were helping with the clinic. A family of such beautiful perfect people...Nodding slowly she agreed.>

"I'm scared, Rose. I will go where ever you think best. I--I....trust...I trust you." <She held on to her belly as another spasm rolled through. Something was so very wrong and she didn't understand it. Her thoughts were scrambled, her mind racing in weird circles. Her throat dry, as she hadn't kept anything, not even water down.>

"Rose, I'm scared...." <She said as she squeezed Rose's hand and a tear fell from her eye.>

*I wiped her tear. I spent so much time and effort keeping people at a distance not letting myself get close to anyone but now, now I was looking into the eyes of someone that I call friend. The first real friend that I have made since, since I was human. "Zoe, love. I know you are scared but I am going to do all I can to help you" I looked over at Em as he walked into the room. I had asked him to make the arrangements for transporting Zoe to the airport. Carlisle was going to make sure there was a jet there to meet us. Em nodded to let me know that everything was ready. "Zoe, Emmett has made the arrangements. We are going to get you to our boat and then to the airport. Carlisle will have a jet waiting for us there to take you to Forks. I am going to ask the nurse to bring me some medication to make sure you are comfortable during the boat ride. I will maintain the I.V myself until we land in Forks. Do you understand love?"

[Emmett Cullen]

*He'd been listening to everything from in the hallway, when he watched Rosalie rush out of the room with human speed, working hard not to go too fast. He followed and listened to the conversation with Carlisle. Closing his eyes tight and clenching his fists as he realized that vampire suavo had knocked his wife's friend up. Grabbing his cell from his pocket he stepped outside and made some calls.*

NO! I said NOW! You understand. I'll pay triple. I need a boat to leave in half an hour at the most. I don't care if he's on break, this is life or death. Yes. Didn't you just hear me? TRIPLE! Now bring the boat around we have a private flight to catch.

*He sighed and dialed the number to the pilot who normally flew the private plane the family had but only used on special or emergency occasions.*

Yeah, Gary..Hey man. Yeah *laughs* It's Emmett. I uh, I need a favor and fast. Oh did she? *chuckles* We always thought she has some sort of sixth sense *he joked* yes that would be great, thanks Gary. Bye.

*Just then Rosalie came from the office talking to Carlisle* Everything is ready, we just have to move her. *He followed her into the room and watched as she talked to Zoe. It broke his heart to see this poor woman like this. She was suffering and she had no clue what she was up against. Bella did this, she survived it. But it was love and lots of preparation about their world that helped. She didn't have a fighting chance alone, but maybe Carlisle and Rose could save her.*

[Zoe DeBroux]

<She smiled and nodded.> "I'm ready, I'll go. I trust you Rose. I'm not ready to die....Please...please help me." <She asked quietly as she felt the tears stream down her face. Taking Rose's hand into both of hers and holding on tight as she prepared to leave and go to the states. On the plus side she'd meet Rose's family and see this Forks Washington, well the hospital at least.>

*The nurse entered the room, handed me the bag of supplies that I had her gather. I needed to be able to maintain Zoe's I.V during the trip and keep her sedated until we got her home. I handed the bag to Em and took the syringe from the nurse.
"Zoe, this is versed and phenergan. It will make you sleep but that is what you need right now. When you wake, we will be in Forks" She nodded her head in agreement. I gave her the I.V push of versed and phenergan, slowly making sure not to rush. Zoe, slowly closed her eyes. I placed the syringe in the sharps container and started to hook Zoe up to the portable heart monitor. I gathered the I.V bag and looked at Emmett. "Ok, now." I watched as my husband lifted my friend up out of the bed, limp and weak, her head fell back. "Please be careful love but be fast" I trusted him and let him lead the way out of the clinic. We said our goodbyes fast for everyone knew how sick Zoe was. I followed behind Em as we made our way to the boat that was waiting. He placed her gently down onto the backseat of the boat and took the keys from the attendant. Giving one last look at us, he started the boat. We were now on our way home. I could do nothing but sit there beside her and trust that we were doing the right thing by moving her. She would surely die if she stayed here, at least now she might have a chance. While Emmett made his way through the open waters, I just held on to her hand. I knew that this situation could only end two ways. Both would leave either me or my friend forever changed*
