Today's the day.

[Renee Dwyer]

Renee woke at dawn in the hotel as she couldn't wait any longer. She left Phil sleep a little longer while she went to get herself ready. It had been a while since the wedding and she didn't want Bella to think she had let herself go. Once she had showered and got herself dressed, wearing a nice blue dress she woke Phil.

"Phil darling, its time to get ready. We have to go and see Bella" she called out to him from the bathroom. Phil got up wishing he hadn't even left Florida. The weather was gloomy, isn't always in Forks and it was guaranteed to rain at some point. He loved the sun and I could tell that's what he was missing it had only been one night. Phil was shuffling along getting himself ready into a pair of jeans and a shirt. Renee had ordered breakfast from room service and by then the time had passed it was nearly 8 am when Renee wanted to leave.

Grabbing their coats Phil and Renee headed for the hotel lobby, while a taxi was called for them. Ushered outside into the gloomy the taxi was waiting, Renee wondered whether she should turn up unannounced but it was too late now. The easiest bit was getting to Charlie's at least she could remember where he lived.

The taxi arrived at Charlie's and Renee headed to the door, she knocked and waited for an answer.

Charlie answered the door with a puzzled look on his face, unsure as to why me and Phil had turned up at his. "Hello Charlie... I couldn't remember the way to the Cullen's house" Charlie nodded and offered to take us (which was nice of him)
We all got into the police cruiser and headed to the Cullen's, "Bella will be surprised won't she Charlie" Renee said as we pulled up outside. Getting out of the cruiser I walked up the steps and hesitantly knocked on the door with Phil and Charlie in tow.

Edward and Bella were discussing the upcoming arrival of Renee, when she heard her daughter rouse. Giving Edward a weak smile as she questioned, "I should tell her about Renee...you know, the no biting thing?"

Bella knew that her mother was coming, Renesmee was a smart child and the minute she realized Charlie was family, she refrained from biting him. Maybe the same would be said with Renee, maybe she was over reacting, things would be fine.

Edward smiled and reassured her things would turn out well, as he led her into Renesmee's room to explain about Renee. The excited look on her face knowing she was going to meet her grandmother made Bella feel warmed inside. After Renesmee picked out her outfit for the day, Bella and Edward changed as well, they all headed to the main house.

After fifteen minutes of waiting, she finally heard the cruiser in the gravel. Charlie must have taken them. Beginning to breathe heavy as she became nervous of smelling her mother. Should she refuse to hug her? Go near her? Would that alert her?! So many questions...

Edward had been listening to Bella about her worries of the up-coming impending visit from her mother Renee, she had explained and began questioning her own abilities to refrain from revealing our family's secret to her.

But he had faith in her, but she doubted his faith in her knowing that she could be the 'loose cannon' in all of this, but he did not need Alice's visions to know that everything would turn out perfectly fine. All that she had to do was use the 'human' techniques that Alice had taught her for her first meeting with Charlie.

And that they would explain Renesmee to be a relative from his adopted family as he was the only remaining family that still remained among the living. Everything would turn out fine. That he had faith in.

"I am sure she will know....But yes maybe it shall be best to prepare her, but she will know Bella"

After ten minutes or so they had both changed in more suitable attire, to which he admired Bella's choice of outfit....Blue. His favorite color against her soft skin, a quality that had remained with her through her transition.

Edward took her hand tightly into his own and gave her a gentle smile and he led her into Renesmee room, he could hear that she was sing a soft lullaby to herself, one that he recognized as the one he had written for his beloved Bella.

They had both entered her room as she had chosen her outfit for the day that complimented her long chestnut hair that shone as the light through the window broke through the curtains. The giggled brightly as she saw them both enter.

Edward took a moment, before bending down to his knees as Nessie ran into his arms.

"Sweetheart *he turned to look at Bella* We are going to have a visitor today *she reached out to touch his cheek and began showing him the events from yesterday about Bella's mother coming for a visit* Yes, and like Charlie, you must not bite him. Your grandmother can never know about us. About Bella *she smiled as she accepted that she could not reveal anything about us to Renee* Such a smart girl *he leaned in to kiss her cheek*

As Bella leaned down to pick her up tightly into her arms, they all proceeded to make their way to the main house. With all the others already anticipating the impending visit from Renee and Phil. They had began waiting for their visit.

Fifteen minutes later there was the knock at the door.

*Knock. Knock*

This was it, things would be alright.

He took Bella's hand tightly into his own and placed a soft kiss on the palm of her hand.

"Trust your instincts. And trust yourself"

She smiled as her hand ran through her hair as now it had finally come.

[Nessa]

Nessie opened her eyes and smiled. Another beautiful day as the sun shone in her room. Spinning around in her nightie as she hummed the lullaby her daddy had made for momma. She could hear them approaching her room as she began to pick out her outfit for the day, determined to show her independence. Tapping her chin as she made them match like Aunt Alice had taught her.

Her father looked serious as he knelt in front of her and explained of a visitor. She'd heard some of the conversation yesterday, and asked in her own way. Her mother stood there silent as he spoke. She looked worried. Nessie turned and looked at her. "Don't worry Momma...I'll be good." She said as she placed her forefinger on her lips, with a wink.

They arrived at the house and she saw her family, giving a wide smile as she hugged them all. Aunt Alice was playing in her hair when she heard a knock and saw her mother tense up and breathe funny. She watched as her daddy answered the door. Deciding to go by her mom for support as she sat next to her, holding her hand.

[Renee Dwyer]

Renee stood nervously waiting for the door to answer. Standing looking at Phil, she was just about to knock again when it was opened by Edward. "Hello Edward, is Bella at home?" she asked in a shaky voice. (I don't know what she had to be nervous about as she didn't know the truth.)

Edward guestered for Renee, Phil and Charlie to come in to their happy home. As they began entering the home Charlie spoke " Hey Edward, Thanks for inviting us in, I know this is unexpected" even Charlie was unsure about the reactions. Walking into the lounge Bella is sitting on the sofa and she stands when she notices Renee. As she walks towards Bella she spoke "Bella, darling. How lovely to see you, sorry for not giving you any warning" with a smile on her face.

There was something odd with the whole situation but Renee was just getting started...

[Bella Cullen]

Bella heard Edward walk to the door, he gave her a reassuring smile as she held Renesmee's tiny hand in hers. Taking deep breaths to calm herself, she could feel Jasper trying to help her mood as well. Alice nodding, telling her she was watching. Carlisle and Esme sat on the other end of the room as the both gave her hope she could do this. Gulping down enough oxygen as she blinked to see with her contacts she looked towards the door.

As Renee, Charlie and Phil entered she stood quickly...too quickly. 'Damn..' she thought. Making her lips curve into a smile as she tried to act normal. "Mom, it's...it's okay really." Renesmee sat on the couch hidden behind Bella.

She saw her mother's arms extended as she took Bella into her arms. DON'T BREATHE! DON'T BREATHE! She kept thinking, very hard. Standing there hard as stone as she slowly wrapped her arms around her mom. Would she notice....anything?

[Edward Cullen]

Edward gave Bella another reassuring smile as he could hear Bella take in large mouthfuls of oxygen to prepare for Renee. He wished that he could do more for her to help calm her nerves and uneasiness and to some how let her know that all would be well.

His nose caught the scent of Renee as she, Charlie and Phil had entered, as he had previously fed not too long ago, he could refrain from feeling the burn in the back of his throat.

He watched as Bella slid Nessie slid behind Bella onto the couch as Bella stood at her new speed, he could almost feel his shock as he tried to hide it behind a motionless face.

He watched as Bella walked towards her mother as Alice turned to face him as her eyes became wide with shock.

*thinking towards Edward*

"Edward......."

[Nessa]

-She watched as her grandma hugged her momma, her daddy looking nervous as Aunt Alice stared at him. She looked between all the faces, wondering what would happen. Her grandma was beautiful, and smelled good too. But, she wouldn't hurt her family, not ever.-

-Nessie stayed on the couch, hidden behind her momma as she gave a small wave to grandpa Charlie. Who was that other man?-

Renee walked over towards Bella, her arms extended to give her daughter a hug...Bella was cold to the touch. "Bella sweetie, you put a jumper or cardigan on your cold" she said with a smile. The atmosphere was strange everyone watching every movement we were making. "Hello Esme, Carlisle and everyone else, this is Phil my husband. Do you remember from the wedding" Renee was mumbling trying to make light conversation.

Renee spotted the little girl peeking behind Bella... "and who are you?" she asked

Charlie looked like a ghost, with everyone trying to act normal. He knew what Renee was like once something got under her skin and he didn't want to be around. "Bella honey, I have got to go. Got work to do" making his exit and avoiding Renee.

[Bella Cullen]

Bella pulled away a little looking down as she tried to blush, knowing she wouldn't. Her head snapped up as Charlie said he had to get to work. "Dad....I...love you." She gave him a smile as he nodded and said he loved her too. She stepped back a little to avoid more contact. "Oh, I'm fine mom...thanks." Rubbing her arms instinctively, as she looked at Edward. Her throat burning as she refused to breathe in the air. Esme and Carlisle gave their hellos to Phil as he sat and saw that they had the game on tv. That would occupy him for a while.

Her eyes widened as Renee' noticed Renesmee. Frantically as she looked from Edward to Alice to say something, knowing she'd say the wrong thing.

He knew this would come, and he and Bella had discussed this outcome if Renee questioned about Renesmee, he cleared his throat and took a broad step forward as the main door closed shut as Charlie had left to go to work, but he knew that Renee would see right through his lies.

"Renee...This is Nessie *he indicated the Renesmee as she waves at her grandmother* As you know I was adopted by Carlisle and Esme, she is the daughter of my biological brother and his wife. They died and they traced me as her only remaining relative and we have taken custody of her to raise her as our own"

He smiled, trying to listen to her thoughts as her mind sped with so many possibilities, trying to work things out.

[Nessa]

-Waving back at the woman, she gave a smile and spoke.- "Hi! I'm Nessie! Nice to meet ya!" -Everyone chuckled as she spoke, she stood and went to her momma's side and looked up. "She's pretty." She said smiling wide.

-Watching the lady look at her, she was wondering what she was thinking. It would be cool to hear thoughts like her daddy did.-

[Renee Dwyer]

Renee looked at Nessie, thinking that the little girl looked familiar. She looked just like Bella when she was younger... "Edward I'm sorry for your loss" Renee expressed with a bit of confusion (I didn't know he had a brother she thought to herself)

Renee smiled "Hello Nessie, I am Bella's mother Renee". Trying to stay focused her mind was putting things together but she didn't know if it was correct. "Bella, why haven't you been in touch?" That was it, the quizzing had started and Bella was first up.

Placing her hands on Renesmee's shoulders, trying not to act too motherly. While she spoke to Renesmee, Bella focused on controlling the burn in her throat and not inhaling air. Renesmee extended her hand to Renee's and shook it. "Nice to meet ya!" Giving her a warm smile as Alice suggested Nessie go with her and Jasper.

Her mother questioned her and she froze. Giving a smile and chuckle, "Well, mom...I uh..we've been...its' just been crazy." Running her hand through her hair nervously. 'Sound normal, raise shoulders, fidget, act human, blink.' Running through her head as she forced a few blinks and smiled. "Sorry I didn't call you back, we were in Georgia for a while. I got sick, of coarse but I'm well now." She said nodding. Without thinking, she took a deep breath and the smell hit her nose.

Raspberries, strawberries, exotic fruits and the smell of the sun came from her mother. She smelled so good. Closing her eyes to focus, trying to push the acidic feeling from her throat. "You know, mom...Can you excuse me for just a minute. I need to use the bathroom." Before her mother could answer she tried to walk away at a slow human pace.

Once in the bathroom she coughed and clutched her throat, swallowing the venom that pooled in her mouth. Was that how she smelled to Edward? Checking her contacts, she could tell they were beginning to show specks of gold. Changing them and washing her hands she calmed herself and took another breath.

As she entered the room she nodded to Edward and sat, motioning next to her for her mom to sit. "So, how is Florida?"

[Edward Cullen]

Edward was trying to capture Bella's attention as he could see that she was struggling with maintaining her composure in front of Renee, his eyes kept glancing towards Alice as she remained in a trance state as she continued to watch Bella's every fine movement as did he.

Alice smiled as she extended her hand to Renesmee as she asked if she would like to go with her and Jasper to play, mentally thanking Alice, knowing that it would relieve some of the tension that he could feel build up.

As Bella exited to use the bathroom, he moved too sit on the edge of the couch behind Renesmee, trying to keep the small talk simple as Carlisle and Esme kept their guard as they were prepared for every outcome.

"Thank you Renee.....I have not seen my brother since i was three years old *he paused* It was quite a shock as I was unaware that my brother had any children. But she is my only blood related family I have left so I shall care for her as my own daughter"

At that moment Bella had returned, himself knowing that Bella had to retreat to regain her control, he knew how hard this was for Bella, but he had faith and trust that all would be well.
